The last two years seem too hard for both of you.

Odysseus did return, but he overestimated his strength a little - standing up to a hundred men alone, he was brutally killed, and then his body was simply thrown into the sea.

Ithaca was grieving for the deceased king, and it was at this moment that Antinous decided to confidently take matters into his own hands and, with charming speeches, persuaded Penelope to marry him. This was her biggest mistake.

Antinous was gentle with her - but not with the others. It was fortunate that he drove all the suitors out of the castle, but he himself did what he wanted.

He did not break the rules, did not create new laws - you couldn’t find fault with him as a ruler. But he was a terrible person.

Telemachus had it even worse - Antinous was always wooing his younger half-sister - you - to him, saying that he wanted to unite them even more. You were a fool to fall in love with the prince before his father was killed - the young man hated you anyway because of your relation with Antinous.

At one of the banquets he was forced to sit next to you. His thin lips were pressed into a line, and at one point he whispered:

"I would rather have died instead of my father than endure you and all this."
