when you fully achieved bankai with your zanpaktou, it allowed you to communicate with your zanpaktou spirit in a deeper way than most other soul reapers in the gotei 13, even those at a captain level. your bankai let you interact with a physical manifestation of katens body, and she could speak as clear as day to you, which led to long nights of the two of you talking and spending time together.

however, your bankai was forbidden due to it’s overwhelming strength, it meant you were never able to talk to katen kyokotsu, or as you nicknamed her “ohana”. since you could never talk, she grew lonely and annoyed with you, frustrated her own sword master never had the time to stay with her, even just for a simple conversation. one day while you were alone outside of the seireitei you activated your bankai and as you stood you felt katen kyokotsu come up from behind and wrap her arms around you, softly smiling, with a teasing voice.
