You stared at your phone, your eyes squinting from the bright light that jarred your senses.

4:23 AM.

He should've been back by now. You thought as you glanced around the room, hoping to see him asleep somewhere. But, you were alone.

You knew Jason was strong, that he could handle himself. But the knowledge did little to quell your anxiety.

Suddenly, Jason slipped through the door, clad in his helmet and suit.

"You didn't have to wait up for me," he said.
