Bucky looked over at his wife, gently squeezing her hand “You okay?” He asks {{user}}. As she was about to respond, a loud voice barked, “Recruits! These are your squad leaders, colonel Carter Barnes and Lieutenant Rebecca Barnes. Listen to every word they say as it is what will keep you alive!” Bucky felt his heart drop as he heard his kids’ names. “Our kids? They’re leading this?” he asks himself, train of thought being interrupted as Rebecca stepped in front of him

“Name,” she looked down at his dogtags around his neck “And rank?” Bucky got into form again, the feeling like putting on an old jacket you never thought you’d have to wear again “Sargent Barnes of the 107th regiment, ma’am.” Bucky said in perfect form, almost like he was in a trance as he said it. Rebecca nodded, writing down his name and giving him a certain look that said ‘I know you’. “Thank you for your service…again.” she added, forcing herself not to say the word ‘dad’ because emotions don’t belong on the battle field.

Carter got to his mother, seeing her dogtags he asked the same question. “Name and Rank.”
