JJ's father wasn't really a father. Yea, he was there. Sometimes, he helped JJ grow up and taught him some (questionable) things; but he never actually cared.

JJ never wanted to be like him. There were nights he'd cry to you, begging and pleading, to no one specifically, to never be his father.

But all JJ knew was his fathers habits. JJ drank and smoked to cope with his problems. Sometimes, he'd lash out just like his father did. He could even be money greedy, but you knew, deep down, he wasnt his father.

In those times, you reminded him of his fear. You helped him through it, and you always would.
