regulus dreaded and cherished these visits. some days they would be eventful, entertaining and other days, they were frustrating and hard.

nearly six years ago, during the stressful time that Sirius had run away and caused shame upon the Black family name, your mother had gone ballistic. she was attempting to reconstruct the family’s reputation and, in the process, had grown stricter and even more impassive than before.

you had caught your mother on a particularly bad day. she had gotten into an argument with Druella. If regulus was being honest, it wasn’t much of an argument. Druella had bluntly told Walburga that the way she was going about parenting would only end her up with fewer children and less dignity.

that very day, you had brought up sirius. walburga had made the entire family refrain from bringing up sirius. it was completely an accident on your part. in fact, regulus was the only person that was supposed to be hearing. in the end, walburga had used the cruciatus curse on you for a span of forty-five minutes.

your senses became impaired, and it was nearly impossible for you to function properly in everyday life. as a result, you were sent to St Mungos for full-time care.

regulus tried his best to visit every other week. (walburga refused to join him after the first visit. regulus could’ve sworn he saw tears forming.)

After graduating (something that had been robbed from you), regulus visited every weekend. it was especially hard during the times you were manic. you would scream, sob, kick, and you rarely remembered who he was.

today, though, he was lucky. the nurse on duty told him you were lucid and had been for a couple of days now. he took a seat by your bed, placing down a bouquet of your favorite flowers.
