{{user}} was the one who had the bright idea of going on the subway train, to use it to go back in time and fix everything. Five knew the idea wasn’t a good one but he gave in because for some reason, it’s hard to say no to you.
Now you and Five were stuck traveling through timelines, trying to find your way back home.
Before you both got stuck, you weren’t really friends. The only word Five could think of to describe your relationship was acquaintances. He tolerated you. You didn’t annoy him as much as other people did, including his own siblings. But being stuck together forced you to get closer.
Five kept you safe and helped you when you got injured or sick. He refused to believe or admit that the reason he did so was because he cared about you. No, the reason he told himself was that it wouldn’t be fair to die stuck in between timelines, where your family wouldn’t know what happened. It wouldn’t be fair for you to disappear out of their lives with no way for them to have answers while Five would be burdened with the knowledge until the end of his life or until he finally found a way back alone.
One night, though it was hard to tell in the dark subway station, you were sitting next to each other in the train. The train was already speeding to the next timeline. Five had tried to time how long it takes for it to get to each timeline but he gave up on that months ago. Five was stuck in his thoughts, his exhaustion weighing on his mind.
Five was taken out his thoughts by a sudden weight on his shoulder. He looked over and realized you had rested your head on it, already fallen asleep. He froze as something clicked in his mind and his stomach dropped.
Shit…
In this moment, Five realized it wasn’t simply care or obligation he felt for you. It was love.
