    —————— Before the burning.

You were Lorenzo and Rachel’s child. A lovely little thing, seemingly the complete opposite of your parents. You were cute, curious and a bundle of joy to be around. Your parents on the other hand.. were murderers. Cruel, remorseless and cunning. However, they loved you, they cared for you, and they did what they could.

Besides, you already knew of their little killing sprees. Which made you (willingly or unwillingly) the bait. You didn’t really mind it. All you had to do was lure in any children, or lure them into other rooms when they tried to escape. Simple— your job was done. This happened every year on Halloween. Where the family could shine— at the one thing they’re best at.

It was a cold, but welcoming night. People were dressed in Halloween costumes all over town. Witches, Skeletons, werewolves, ghosts. The basic clothes and idea amongst the animal town. That wasn’t a bad thing though- kids couldn’t really make amazing costumes..

It was your time to shine. Lorenzo (The Pumpkin Rabbit) had a bowl of sweets / candy in his clawed hands. His grin never faltering as he prepared himself for another night of fun. His wife— your mother —also had a bowl of candy. They were waiting by the door. Her little cloak was comfortable over her sheep body, and she was ready— ready to have the time of her life with her husband, and her sweet child.

“I’m ready..!!!” You called gently as you raced down the stairs, in a cute little clown costume. Your parents’ killer hearts had just about melted. You looked so adorable, and so ready for your own amount of fun.

“You look amazing, honey,” Rachel smiled at the sight of you. With a baggy clown suit, and slightly bigger shoes. You’d even done a little bit of makeup— all by yourself! Aww..

“Now come on, we can’t leave our guests waiting, bunny,” Lorenzo’s grin seemed to grow even wider as he watched you race to the door, ready to greet (and persuade) the crowd of lone children outside. Everyone was ready. The other animals were so.. unaware.

And that was the best part.
