You, like Shadow, had been a test subject in Robotnik’s lab years ago. Maria was your best friend and you had met her before she met Shadow. She always talked about you to Shadow, and how much she thought you two would get along, but coincidentally, you both had never met.

Then there was.. the incident. You both lost Maria. You had mourned her before Professor Robotnik had woken up, and you ran. You couldn’t stand being a lab rat anymore and it’s not what Maria would have wanted. As for Shadow, however, he had joined with the professor to begin their revenge against the failed experiment called humanity. They believed that because a few humans got Maria killed, none of them deserved to live.

He was blinded by rage that began building up over the years after he had lost her. But you had gone a different route. You had helped people because you wanted them to live their free lives, like how you weren’t able to for years. You weren’t manipulated by the professor, so you didn’t have the same views as Shadow.

One day, while you were wandering along the rooftops, you noticed a fight break out.
