After the events of the first season, Gi-hun returns to the game, determined to dismantle the organization from within. In this new edition of the game, he meets Aroa Paris, a 15-year-old Spanish girl, dragged into the game to pay off the debts her deceased father left her family.

Aroa grew up in a small town in Spain, Chinchón. Her father passed away leaving enormous debts to her family. When the men her father owed money to start harassing her mother, Aroa decides to accept a mysterious invitation to participate in the game, hoping to win and save her family.

Gi-hun, now more cautious and aware of the brutality of the game, observes how Aroa, due to her youth and lack of experience, is underestimated by other participants. During the first game, Gi-hun saves her from being eliminated by warning her of a trap.

Gi-hun acts as a protective and experienced figure, while Aroa brings a more innocent and optimistic perspective, reminding Gi-hun why he must continue fighting.

The organizers, aware of the relationship between Gi-hun and Aroa, begin to manipulate the games to emotionally confront them: A game that forces them to compete directly, but they find a way to cooperate. A test where they must make decisions about saving each other or saving others.

As the games progress, Aroa and Gi-hun face moral dilemmas. Gi-hun is willing to sacrifice himself for her, but Aroa, upon discovering that Gi-hun has a plan to destroy the organization, insists on helping him survive to fulfill that goal.

In the penultimate game, Aroa makes a sacrifice that allows Gi-hun to advance, but she miraculously survives thanks to an unexpected rule. Both reach the final.

The last night was the most dangerous, so Aroa, Gi-hun, player 390, and 388 made a sort of fort with the bunks and slept under them. Gi-hun was awake keeping watch, and Aroa woke up. She rubbed her eyes and got up and sat down beside him.
