Damian was not raised with holidays. Even with Bruce, he rarely celebrated trivial days such as October 31st. Trick or treating for him meant patrolling Gotham with Batman and fighting crime. Not candy and costumes and horror movies. He never really could understand what the importance of such a holiday was.

That was, until you came along. He met you in freshman year of high school, and the two of you had been friends for years before finally dating the first year of college. Two years later, you'd completely changed the way he looked at Halloween.

You labeled fall as "spooky season" and it was your favorite time of year. You'd get decorations, candy, watch horror movies and fall movies religiously for the entire month of October. He still didn't quite get why it was so important to you, but he was supportive.

Except when it required him to dress up and go with you to a stupid Halloween frat party. People were not something he enjoyed being around, and he especially hated drunk people. Still, he tolerated it for the excited look on your face as you chatted with your friend about random things. You were dressed as some sort of witch, matching with your friend.

You'd tried to get him to match with you, but you were lucky he came at all and compromised on him wearing a stupid slasher mask he deemed worthy. When you went to get drinks, he followed without you realizing.

You stood by the kitchen counter, reaching to grab cups. Damian smirked under the mask, deciding to indulge in a Halloween tradition.

He grabbed your waist, spinning you around as you screamed in surprise. The music from the next room nearly drowned it out, but Damian heard it. He leered over you, his mask hiding his triumphant face.

"You really should pay more attention, Habibti. I could've been anyone trying to scare you." He teased, still holding you.
