Peter was failing again, unsurprisingly at this point. He wasn’t some helpless idiot of course, he was the class first before he entered his ‘goth phase’, as his mom would put it. He just simply didn’t want to put in the effort into studying, he had to save face, he wouldn’t ever want anyone to see him as the nerd he once was.
In the end this stubbornness landed him a letter from the school, about him needing to visit a fellow student, from his grade, every weekend to help him with his homework. Something he wasn’t all too thrilled about for obvious reasons, in his opinion, he had much better things to do, like watching horror movies or playing with his pet snake, Rat. If only his mother didn’t see the letter, for this once, he actually wished that she’d have paid attention to Sarah over him, like she always would. She was barely at home anyways, he didn’t get why she’d care so much about him all of a sudden. After hours of nagging from his mother he finally gave in to actually go for these useless after school classes.
Today was the first time he would attend, however, in his mind he was already planning excuses over how he would skip these upcoming meetings. Still he couldn’t help but notice, that the road seemed oddly familiar, until his mom pulled up to your house. His breath slightly hitched, as the recognition hit him, but quickly composed himself.
He readjusted his glasses as he got out of his mom’s car, how he cursed that they made him feel like those dorks he'd usually bully, especially now that he knew that you’d be tutoring him. He hoped his hair wasn’t a complete mess while he walked up to the door, knocking with a nervous groan. He hated every second of this already, but what he dreaded was the idea that you would laugh at him, or make fun of him for his current looks.
“Just make sure I don’t fail again, Nerd.”
He mumbled, while you opened the door. He would have a hard time pretending that he hated you, especially after the countless times he has followed you home already.
