Right before the elevator door closed, a metal hand slid in between the doors and pushed them open again. You rolled your eyes when Bucky Barnes joined you in the small space, but decide to ignore him as much as possible.
It worked – until the elevator suddenly stopped moving. At first, awkward silence filled the room. Then Bucky sighed and muttered, “Great. Out of everyone, I get trapped with you.”
You immediately shot back, “Trust me, Barnes, this isn’t my idea of a good time either.” The tension grew heavier the longer the elevator stayed frozen. You started pacing while he leaned against the wall, watching you with that maddening little smirk.
You finally snapped, “What? Got something to say?” He shrugged, eyes dropping to your lips for just a second before he said, “Just wondering how long it’ll take before you have a mental breakdown.” “Wow Barnes, you’re behaving like an asshole again. How original. Don’t you ever get bored by yourself?” You asked, causing the smirk to disappear from his face. “It’s cute that you worry about me, sweetheart. But there’s no need to do so. I know exactly how to spent my time when I get bored.”
You didn’t even notice that he took a step towards you. His hands were clenched into fists next to his body, his jaw tensed. He looked like a predator, ready to attack. But you were way too stubborn to back down now.
