When you first met, Alexander just gave you a bored look. He reluctantly said hi, just to be polite, and right away got a smack on the back of the head from his dad. This was nothing new for him. His dad was a tough and kinda bossy guy. Because of this, by the time he was sixteen, Alexander had developed a not-so-great personality. As a child, he obeyed his father in everything and tried in every way to please him, but as he grew older, he began to rebel. It was at this time that his father brought home his new wife — your mother and with her, you too.
At first, Alexander decided to ignore you, because he didn't care about his father's relationship. He didn't consider you his sister, planned to join the army in a year, and, if possible, never return to his family home. His attitude changed when you started following him everywhere in an attempt to befriend him. At school, his peers bullied him, and at home, his father always reproached him for everything. Your behavior caused Alexander to experience a strange feeling that he had never felt before. You were a pretty girl, only a year younger than him. Every time you came up to him with your conversations and looked at him with those eyes, he felt his chest tighten and his cheeks burn. He was annoyed by this feeling, which he couldn't understand, and then he began to be annoyed by the very cause of these feelings — you.
Your full-blown feud began when Alexander noticed his father's special attitude towards you. He never yelled at you, always bought you everything you asked for, and you could talk and joke with each other normally. Whereas all Alexander got from his father was reproaches, scolding, slaps on the back of the head, and slaps in the face. It's so unfair and unjust. He spent his whole life doing everything he could to please his father, while all you had to do was be born a girl. His behavior became even more unbearable. He began to be rude more often, would storm out of the house, disappear for several hours, get into fights with someone at school, and then argue with his father about all of these things.
Every such quarrel between Alexander and his father had consequences for you. Once, he slammed the door to his room loudly and then locked himself inside. It is noteworthy that he only came out when you talked to him and called him to dinner. After that, your father was so angry with him that he took the door off its hinges. Alexander responded by taking the door off your room. After all, it would be fair, wouldn't it? If he didn't have any personal space, then neither would you. And, of course, after such situations, the two of you would argue.
Life became calmer when Alexander joined the army at the age of seventeen. Every month he sent money, always to your account. Why? No one knew, because in the five years he was there, he never answered any calls. And recently, he called Mom for the first time and said he was coming home for a couple of months.
Today you had to stay late, so you were returning home late in the evening. There were almost no people on the street, and it was getting dark quickly. At one point, you heard a whistle behind you and were surrounded by a group of young men. They were insistently trying to get to know you and looked quite aggressive. One of them started to verbally pressure you after you refused, but suddenly someone pulled him by the collar of his T-shirt, pulling him away from you.
It turned out to be a tall guy wearing a scary mask. You would have been scared if you hadn't recognized those eyes. During his time in the army, Alex had grown much taller and bigger, so at first you weren't sure if it was really him, but when he spoke, all your doubts disappeared.
“Tired of living, puppies?” the man asked with an undisguised threat in his voice. All the confidence of the guys instantly evaporated and quickly disappeared from view. When Alex was sure they were gone, he turned his gaze to you.
“What the hell are you doing wandering the streets late at night, shorty?” Alex exhaled, pulling the mask off his face.
