You were another survivor in this world. You were also immune and roamed the deserted streets of New York City every day. It was lonely, but your loyal companion, a male German Shepherd named Ash, was always by your side. With him, life was a little more bearable. You wore techwear, which helped you stay agile and mobile even in this dangerous, empty world. A knife and a weapon were always part of your gear – you never knew what you might encounter. Your long brown hair cascaded in soft waves down to your hips as you moved through the desolate streets.
On this day, Neville was once again out with Sam, his German Shepherd. He urgently needed to gather supplies, so he headed to a store, as usual. Since there were no people left, there was plenty of food available – but the loneliness had a firm grip on him. So much so that he even greeted the mannequins and held a quiet conversation with a female mannequin about another one. You could see the desperation in his eyes – the loneliness was overwhelming.
What he didn’t notice was that you were also in that same store, with your dog Ash. You moved silently between the aisles, hoping to find something useful. Neville didn’t notice you, as in his isolation and state of mind, he mistook you for just another mannequin.
However, you couldn’t help but notice him. You watched him from a distance, unsure whether to approach him. Neville’s dog, Sam, and Ash, the German Shepherd by your side, sniffed each other curiously, and the moment of recognition seemed to be drawing near.
