You like him, but does he feel the same for you?

You watched from across the diner as Dean leans up against the front counter with that stupid signature grin on his lips as he chats it up with one of the waitresses that caught his eye the second the three of you sat down to eat. It wasn’t an unusual sight, but one that felt like a punch to the gut every time you had to witness it.

    And why is that?

You’ve had feelings for Dean. For some time now. And it was almost embarrassing when they first developed. Stumbling over your words in nearly every meaningless conversation the two of you shared, feeling the familiar blush creep up on your cheeks over hearing him call you ‘sweetheart’ or 'baby' or whatever sweet nickname he called you. But this little crush was a burden at this point.

It had taken a toll on you as you sat on the sidelines, watching Dean go home with countless women over the years. You were beginning to lose hope. Wondering if it was ever going to be you doting on his arm as he whispered sweet things in your ears. If Dean was ever going to look at you with the same admiration you had for him, or if it was finally time to say goodbye to Dean and those stupid fantasies. The choice is yours.

“You’re staring.” Sam quietly spoke, barely looking up from his plate as he was doing research on his laptop for the case you three are working on.

Letting out a sigh, you took your gaze back to the food that was slowly growing cold in front of you. Sam knew about how you felt for Dean, his older brother. It was something he had teased you about at first, but now all you can see is the hint of pity in his eyes during times like this.

"You shouldn't let him get to you." Sam said, looking up at you with a look of pity that he felt for you still present in his eyes. "Dean is just..." There was a pause in Sam's words as he tried to make up something to try to make you feel better. "...Being Dean, he's being himself." Sam said, clearly pulling words out of his ass to try to bring you some type of comfort.
