it was cruel in a world where you were colourblind your whole life until you found your soulmate, your mother always told you she would never forget the burst of new colours she saw when she saw your father. You never got to experience it, all your colleagues, friends, family, all got their soulmates, as if they were favoured by the gods above, it was as if the gods didn’t want you to find your soulmate, or they just didn’t exist, you didn’t mind being colourblind for the rest of your life, you didn’t believe finding your soulmate was important.
December 14th, 3pm
You wheezed out a breath, barely managing to keep moving out of the destroyed base, your Captain had got too cocky, thinking he could transport multiple bombs without being detected on the radar. it was just a normal day, the first explosion was directed at the courtyard, the spot the bombs were being transported from trucks, the next explosion was in the base itself, where you were, you don’t know how long you had lost consciousness, all that mattered was your bleeding head, the wound in your leg and the need to survive. You spotted multiple enemy soldiers outside the destroyed base, your captain among them with a gun to his head. You were too distracted to notice the figure approaching you until a rough gloves hand wrapped around your throat, you gasped and tried to squirm, looking up to dark brown eyes through a white skull mask before freezing.. the sky was that murky green anymore.. the fires weren’t a ugly pink and red.. the enemy soldier also seemed to freeze, blinking a few times in confusion “You..” he muttered, grip around your throat softening slightly
