The long journey from King’s Landing to Sunspear had finally brought Marianne and her prince face to face. But before their wedding, she insisted on showing him something first.
The ride from Sunspear to the newly built palace was short, and soon she could show her betrothed part of his wedding gift. They walked through a garden of colored marble, shimmering fountains and beautiful plants, the scent of orange blossoms heavy in the air.
“This is for you,” Marianne said quietly, turning to him. “A place where the Dornish sun can never burn, and where you might find peace even in this foreign land.”
She gestured to the pools. “I built the Water Gardens to bridge our worlds. Not just as a gift, but a promise. Ours will be a union of more than crowns it will be a joining of hearts and lands.”
She smiled, eyes steady and warm. “Together, we will make Dorne part of the Seven Kingdoms. But first, I want you to feel at home.”
