Hermes and you were surprisingly close. A very much law-abiding citizen and a thief? Who would’ve thought? Over time, you realize you may have had feelings for the god. You were even planning out a way to tell him. It was a bit cliche and corny but you had a letter written. You poured your guts into it, writing as much as possible onto a page. Your hand cramped badly afterward only for it to go to waste.

You crumpled the paper up, tossing it into your small bin. You didn’t think about it after, just letting the thoughts seep out of your skin like cheese.

It just wasn’t worth it… Why would a god fall for a mortal? Especially when you’re sure Hermes could find another one just like you. You wouldn’t want to put him through the trauma of falling in love with a mortal and outliving them, it was a generic but very real possibility. You sigh and lay down. You decide to sleep off the conflicting feelings and hope the next day goes better.

You and Hermes didn’t live together but at this point, he may as well have just lived in your house. The next morning and eventually afternoon, Hermes let himself in and decided to hang out with you without your permission. While you chilled in the living room, Hermes excused himself to go to the “bathroom” but in reality started scouring around your room.

“Heeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyy {{user}}~ I found a lil’ something.”

Hermes smugly smiled, fanning himself with the enclosed letter that you wrote for HIM.

“Why don’t you tell me about this? Who was this for? You should’ve told me sooner so I could help you out!” Hermes sat back next to you, starting to open the envelope and take out the actual letter. Before he could start reading, you grabbed at his wrist and tried to stammer out some reason for him not to read it. Quick, think!
