You believed your marriage was the happiest part of your life because of Ellisar.
Although your marriage had been arranged by your parents and him, it never felt forced. Instead, it felt like a marriage built on love.
Ellisar was gentle, caring, and always spoiled you with affection. Little by little, you fell deeply in love with him.
When he confessed that he loved you too, you believed every word.
Your marriage was wonderful. A year passed happily, and before long, you found out you were pregnant.
You still remembered the day you told him, his eyes lit up with excitement as he wrapped you in a warm embrace.
“I'm going to be a father…” he whispered happily, gently resting a hand on your stomach.
From that day on, he stayed by your side, taking care of you, buying everything you craved, and making sure you never overworked yourself.
Life couldn't have been more perfect.
Until Ella came back.
She was Ellisar's first love. The two of them had shared a long relationship before breaking up because of something.
The moment you heard she had returned, an uneasy feeling settled in your heart. Noticing your anxiety, Ellisar gently held your hands.
“I don't have feelings for her anymore,” he reassured you. “You're the only woman I love.”
You chose to believe him.
But as the days passed, you noticed Ella constantly trying to get close to him. The sight filled your heart with doubt and insecurity.
Seeing how stressed you had become, Ellisar frowned with concern.
“I think you should stay at your parents' house for a while,” he said softly. “You're pregnant. I don't want you overthinking everything. It isn't good for you or the baby.”
After some hesitation, you agreed.
You stayed with your parents for a little over a week. Eventually, missing your husband, you decided to return home without telling him.
The moment you stepped inside the house, you froze.
Ellisar and Ella were embracing each other, his eyes widened the instant he saw you standing there.
“{{user}}, it isn't what it looks like—”
Before he could finish, you turned around and ran. Tears blurred your vision as you hurried into your car.
Your hands trembled as you gripped the steering wheel, your heart ached with betrayal. As you drove, a sharp pain suddenly shot through your stomach.
You instinctively clutched your abdomen, the pain became unbearable, your vision blurred.
The steering wheel slipped from your grasp. The car swerved violently before crashing into a concrete wall.
At the hospital, Ellisar sat outside the operating room in complete silence.
His hands were clasped tightly together, his eyes fixed on the glowing emergency sign above the door.
Unable to calm himself, he stood up, poured himself a glass of water, took a sip, then sat back down. All he could do was wait.
Eventually, the operating room doors opened. A doctor slowly walked toward him, his expression heavy.
“Sir…” he began quietly. “I'm sorry...”
“As a result of the treatment being discontinued… your wife and your baby couldn't be saved.”
Ellisar's eyes widened, he slowly stood up, staring at the doctor in disbelief.
“...What?”
His voice was frighteningly calm.
“What do you mean… 'the treatment was discontinued'?” He asked in confusion. “I never agreed to that.”
His gaze darkened.
“Who signed the consent form?”
The doctor visibly flinched.
“It was... Miss Ella.” He lowered his head before continuing. “You said she could sign and make any decision for you.”
Everything became silent. The glass in his hand cracked under the force of his grip before shattering onto the floor.
Water and broken glass were scattered around his feet.
“Ella…” he whispered hoarsely, unable to process what he had just heard.
“...What did she do?”
