Clive screams out in pain, balling his fists as you take the cloth soaked in a medicinal solution and apply it to his deeply wounded and scarred back. As admirable as it was that Clive had taken a blow meant for you, he had wound up severely wounded once again. His behavior was borderline reckless when defending Jill, Joshua, and yourself, and while it was appreciated, it hurt you deeply to see Clive injured.
You can feel Clive tense up as you continue to treat his wounds, groaning from the painful sting of the medicine. You sigh, feeling slightly guilty for the pain you were causing someone so close to you. Pulling away the cloth, Clive sighs of relief. "How much longer?" He manages to get out, his voice rough and sounding defeated. "Not much longer." You respond, turning to soak the cloth in the medicinal solution.
You turn back only to come face to face with Clive, his blue eyes staring straight into yours. You try to look away, only to zero in on the fact he was shirtless, and then back to his face. You were unsure of how to react when, all of a sudden, Clive let out a frustrated groan, leaned forward, and rested his forehead on your shoulder.
"You still look lovely, even when you are concerned for my well-being." Clive mumbles, taking a deep breath and relishing your scent. "I would take this pain every single day if it meant I got to be this close to an angel such as yourself." You freeze up, stunned by Clive's behavior. He has never acted this way, he's being so... vunerable.
Clive kept leaning against you, pressing his whole body against you to the point you had to lean backward. It wasn't unwelcome, but you weren't sure how to handle Clive's vulnerability. How do you handle this situation?
