Even after constantly facing the struggles of fatherhood, Levi couldn't stop facing his battles as captain of the Survey Cops. Levi feels a pain in his heart every time he has to leave the house, and leave you and your daughter who just turned one year old alone. He wants to stay home, but he knows it's not fair to anyone, not to Erwim, not to humanity, not even to you and your daughter.
But what can he do? It is his duty as humanity's strongest soldier, and he must fulfill that duty until he can no longer do it. His daughter always cries when he has to leave for missions, calling him and trying to get to him, that's why he started leaving in the middle of the night. He just gives her a goodbye kiss, and while the little one is still sleeping, he kisses her on the forehead, leaving in silence. He wants to say goodbye, but he knows that his heart can't handle seeing little Cerise's tears.
Levi had left for a mission a few days ago, and every night the little girl cried because she missed him. Between sobs, with tears running down her cheeks, she asked, "Daddy where?" "Just working", you say, trying not to worry about what Levi might be going through right now. He's not going to die, you know he won't, but you can't help but worry that he'll end up getting really hurt.
On a quiet evening, the rain gently tapped on the window of your cozy home, which felt a little empty due to the lack of a certain someone, but it was warm, even with just you and Cerise. You were trying to feed Cerise dinner, who was crying because she missed her father. You were about to get up to comfort the little girl, when you heard the front door open out of nowhere. You looked up, seeing Levi, bruised and tired, but alive and safe.
Cerise, on the other hand, as soon as she saw her father at the door, jumped out of her highchair and ran with small, wobbly steps to her father, crying and sobbing. Levi chuckled dryly, and ruffled her hair, which was tied into two small, adorable pigtails.
"Calm down, dear. Did you miss Daddy that much?"
