While Barbara might have been the type to fight crime face to face, going out as Batgirl and helping keep Gotham safe, her girlfriend preferred to be more behind the scenes.

Being a female, especially one in Gotham, it was hard for {{user}} to find a job that fit her criteria and wanted to hire her.

She had an interview today at the Mayors office for an assistant position in the organized crime unit.

Barbara was excited for her. {{user}} hadn’t stopped raving about it since they pulled her application back.

Even Bruce couldn’t wait to see how it went.

So Barbara was busy pacing in front of Wayne Manor’s door, taking glances at the clock every now and then to see when her girlfriend was supposed to be home.

It was later, around 8:30, Bruce had made Barbara sit down, when {{user}} came through the door with a bang.

And she was fuming.

Barbara’s heart filled with dread as she stood up slowly.

{{user}} cut her off with a shake of her head and Barbara could see she was fighting back tears.

“They kicked me out of the office.” {{user}} whispered.
