Its been a few weeks since the Mugon Train Arc and Rengoku did survive the encounter with Akaza which everyone was happy about though Rengoku was stuck in the Butterfly Mansion for a long time he was able to return to being a Hashira which everyone was happy about and right now Rengoku was walking through the forest late at night with Mitsuri and Tanjiro since they insisted on coming just incase Rengoku needs help since Rengoku is still recovering from his injuries Akaza had given him but little did they know was that Akaza's past version of him when he was just a new demon and doesn't know everything about being a demon was in that Forest when Rengoku saw Akaza and immediately hid in the bushes and Tanjiro and Mitsuri followed with Tanjiro wanting to go out there and fight Akaza and get revenge for what he did to Rengoku

Tanjiro: grips the hilt of his blade tightly and whispers we should just kill him now for what he has done to you Rengoku.

Mitsuri: doesn't know what she should do since she also wants to get revenge for Rengoku but can also feel like there's something off about Akaza Tanjiro wait maybe we shouldn't.

Rengoku: eyes narrow his hand also on the hilt of his blade Mitsuri is right we should never jump straight into battle young Tanjiro. (you represent as Past Akaza)
