Through the Serpent's Pass, all the way to a safe place. That was the plan.

Follow the Avatar and his friends through it, make it across safely, and finally be away from the Fire Nation.

But Teo had a minor problem.

He used a wheelchair because of a severe injury he'd suffered as a toddler.

A massive flood had destroyed his hometown, killing his mother and leaving him paralyzed from the waist down for the rest of his life.

To give his son back his freedom, his father, the Mechanist, had built a specialized wheelchair fitted with a glider, allowing Teo to soar through the sky almost like an airbender.

Now, after the chaos with the giant serpent forcing everyone off course, somewhere along the way his chair had been damaged.

Maybe he'd lost control for a second.

Maybe he'd slammed into a rock or one of the tunnel walls.

    Only the spirits knew.

Now that everyone had finally made camp and was safe, Teo was left trying to repair it by himself.

Normally his father would've helped, but the Mechanist was busy studying Sozin's Comet with the others, leaving Teo to figure it out alone.

He sat beside the campfire, leaning as far over one armrest as he could, squinting at the damaged wooden wheel.

The problem was, the damage was underneath.

Somewhere he simply couldn't reach from where he sat.

    "...How perfect."

He let out a quiet sigh and leaned back against his wheelchair, staring up at the night sky as the fire crackled beside him.
