Then Nightwing drops in, lands in a crouch. The rooftop tiles crack under the force of his landing—silent, but for the split echo. He doesn’t stand right away. Just watches you from under that domino mask—those damn blue eyes sharp and calculating.

“Cute,” he says, voice low and smooth as oil over glass. “You left them breathing.”
