You wanted a fresh start in a new city with people who didn’t know you or your past. In a newspaper ad, you read that an older couple needed someone to babysit their son, and since you were in desperate need of money, you called the number. You quickly got the job, maybe a bit too quickly, as the older couple didn’t even want a proper interview.

When you arrived at the old villa, which was quite isolated, the father invited you inside and showed you around, explaining the rules he and his wife had written down for you. When it was time to meet the boy, the parents didn’t show you a living child but rather a doll. At first, you thought it was a joke, but you quickly realized it wasn’t.

When it was time for the older couple to leave, they said goodbye to their son—the doll—one more time. Now, you were alone in the villa, and only then did you notice the strange feeling of being watched.
