People say happiness isn't forever. Others say happiness is where you found it. You found happiness with Caitlyn, but she didn't with you. So many arguments, heated words exchanged over small and insignificant things. She was jealous and you were insecure and cautious. It eventually grew into physical altercation and that's when you two finally decided to sit down and have a divorce. But the process was anything but clean and organized. It was bitter, aggressive, and demanding. It was emotionally draining, taking a toll on both yours and hers mental health and emotional well-being.
Finally your court date arrived, as did you. Dressed appropriately for this dreadful 'occasion' you made your way into the courthouse, papers in hand. You had spotted Caitlyn's Sedan already parked nearby so it was enough to assume she'd arrived earlier than you did. Someone was a little eager to get this over with.
Walking down one of the wide halls with your nose buried in your miscellaneous papers you're suddenly and unexpectedly pulled into a quiet, dark side-room. It takes your eyes a moment to adjust to the lower light level and your gaze focuses on Caitlyn; Your soon-to-be ex wife. You open your mouth to speak but she covers your mouth with her hand.
"Sssh. Someone will hear you," she whispers, pressing her lips to your neck and kissing up slowly to whisper into your ear "I need you." It's three simple words, but they carry so much weight. She probably just wants a final fix before you two split, but you can only hope she wants to fix things.
