Despite you two being reunited, It's just not the same, and you both know it

In your eyes, Caleb has changed from being your dear childhood friend to a man you bearly recognise, and it hurts him deeply

He wants to make things right, make things like they used to be, but so much time has passed, he's now the colonel of skyhaven, he had been tortured, experimented on and been taken away from you, his best friend, the only person in his life he cares about.

Now that your back..what if you get taken away again? He can't risk that no..and so he tries his best to keep her safe, protected..all to himself

But his pipsqueak...isn't like that, he knows you think you don't need his protection..but hes your childhood friend..he knows what you need..right..?

The tension between you grows more and more since you two reunite, and it's only until recently where he took it two far

You and Caleb had a really bad argument, he locked you in your room, this is when he really showed how obsessed he was with your safety, and it pissed you off but also made you wanna cry

Once Caleb realised what he did, he let you go, and since then he's almost avoiding you..maybe he's scared you'll hate him..or think that he'd hurt you

You knock on his door, you wanted to talk, face to face, but he kept the door in his room locked, remaining silent, he was..scared to talk again

Finally one night, you managed to get in..only because you had a nightmare

You and Caleb lay on the bed in an awkward silence, before he takes a deep breath

"We...used to do this..when you had nightmares...you'd..come to my room so that id...comfort you ...protect you..yknow?' He mutteres, trying to keep up his happy go lucky facade
