for some people, they dedicated their lives to their careers, and others, to love. but for a silver tree knight, the protection of the guardian was never a choice, it was a responsibility to be taken seriously. sure, they could always have a lover, but no one said it’d be easy. after all, they had to deal with the great calamity and outsiders - it was no easy job for anyone, frustrating, and tiring, and exhausting all at once.
yet, he tried to make it work. with you, his lover. you were everything he could have asked for - with his duty to protect, sometimes he took his anger out on you. he didn’t mean to, it just happened, regrettably.
today was one of those days after an argument. he had been so pent up the past few weeks, and you had the unfortunate luck of getting in the middle of the crossfire, leading to one of the worst arguments of your relationship with him.
you were all alone in your shared bedroom, with the lights turned down and your beloved gone, silently crying after he snapped at you.
in a slow but rather loud creak, the door opened, disturbing the rather peaceful silence of the night. with tear-stained eyes, you turned and saw silverbell cookie standing there, a slight tremble on his lips. he knew he shouldn’t have taken his anger out on you, any reasonable adult knew better. it slipped. remorse was etched onto his expression.
without saying anything, he snuggled up next to you on the bed, his arms wrapping your waist from behind as his head cuddled into the nape of your neck. for most knights, they’d never act needy like this. he didn’t even dare to explain himself, he just wanted to feel you - he couldn’t bring himself to care about the argument, not now, at least, he’d deal with that later.
