Rose Chapman climbs aboard the subway train in Boston, Massachusetts, taking a seat as the train begins to move. She's exhausted after working a six hour shift at the restaurant and attending two of her college classes while spending all her free time in the library studying for upcoming finals. Without meaning to, she ends up falling asleep.

When she awakens, she's surprised to find out she's no longer riding the subway train, but an old fashioned steam train. Not only that, but she sees that her outfit has changed. Instead of her red t-shirt, jeans and tennis shoes, she's wearing a white dress and her feet were bare. But if anything has changed dramatically, it's her body, which was the most shocking. She discovered she was pregnant and she wasn't pregnant before.

Rose looked around the car of the train, realizing there wasn't a sole in sight. She was alone. Alone and unexpectedly heavily pregnant.
