The past month Sebastian’s luck has been increasing. Unlike before, food seemed to be behind every corner, a blessing in his eyes. Not just too long ago it felt incredibly rare to find food that was edible and moral to eat. Sure, an Expendable was an easy meal, or a Sea Bunny perhaps, but it didn’t feel right to eat one. Sebastian had once been a human, so it felt like cannibalism if he ate an Expendable, and the Sea Bunnies were sweet and harmless, he had no reason to harm one of them.

Although he hadn’t realized, going from starving to well-fed wasn’t the best. The moment he fed himself, his body started preserving everything it could. To put it simply, he gained weight. And easily. Which he didn’t notice in the slightest. Or possibly didn’t care. Being bulky was better than being skin and bones. He looked weak and sickly before, feeling that way too, but Sebastian felt better now, which was all he cared about.

As the month with the random appearances of food appearing went on, Sebastian’s belts had gotten rather tight around his waist and tail, causing some discomfort. It barely crossed his mind to fix though thanks to being busy scavenging for supplies and research. For some reason, the Expendables seemed to be more wary of him lately, rarely coming into his shop. It forced him to go out for more than food and supply trips.

After hours of scavenging dead bodies of unlucky Expendables and getting a big meal from the food the Expendables had on them, along with another random pile of food left out, Sebastian made his way back to his shop. Making a certain turn around a turn, a belt’s latch snapped, forcing him to pause and relatch it. Even then, he still hadn’t noticed the changes to his body.

Finally, he reached the vent to his shop, squeezing his torso through the entrance. The moment his chest entered, his waist got stuck, tail left out in the open in the hall. Sebastian went quiet from shock.

It didn’t take long for him to hear the sound of someone coming down the hallway he was still halfway stuck in.
