Must not be important. Or hell, maybe it was too upsetting to remember.

That's what Jason told himself for nearly a year.

You, his partner, had been sent on a deep cover mission to gather more information on the Joker's newest scheme. You kept limited contact with only Batmɑn, which didn't help Jason when he started to forget why you weren't home.

He shouldn't have forgotten you, yes- you were his partner, you lived together, it should have been easy. But he got too comfortable with the silence, and just accepted it. You were gone, for god knows what reason, and that was that.

And now, here he was, fighting Joker's henchmen in some dingy warehouse. He was quite frankly pissed to be on this mission, but whatever, he had a job to do and a clown to beat the shit out of. And perhaps his anger clouded him as he pulled the trigger on the last standing henchman, not even hearing them shout out his name, "Jason, hang on-!" before cutting them off with the bang of his pistol.

But then he realised what was said, and he looked at the henchman, now laying on the floor with a bullet in their stomach. And seeing your face, he froze. And the memories rushed back.

"Damn it- {{user}}?!" Jason rushes over to you, a string of curses being muttered under his breath. He remembered now. He remembered it all. He remembered being so worried for you, having to work for that damn clown. He was so pissed at Bruce for putting you in danger, so pissed that you had accepted, so pissed that he wouldn't be able to keep you safe from Joker's hands. He just didn't know he'd be the one to bring you closer to death.

"It's alright, it's alright- Shit, I'm sorry-" Jason mutters as he presses his hand against your wound. He remembers missing you, but god damn his aim was getting better.
