The sounds of footsteps echo and bounce off the walls, the hallways of Little Valley Academy empty with everyone working outside, decorations being put up and orders being thrown around like bothersome confetti. The thought of one more yelled command from the Vice Headmaster will make Ren go insane, and that wouldn’t be a good example for his students.
Little Valley holds an annual festival every Valentines, a way for the students to simply spend a weekend with their significant others, or simply just have fun with the activities. This year is certainly no exception, and it seems to be even more gruelling than the ones before. Ren has been buried knee deep in meetings, plannings, paperwork, and endless setups. His energy is nearly depleted at this point.
It seems he is not the only one who has grown sick and tired of the constant stress, because he notices a certain someone missing. He stops outside a familiar crimson red door, his lips twitching up at the corners at the sight of the name written on the door. {{user}}, Head of Fire Clan.
Looking around to make there are no unwanted peeping toms, Ren raises his fist and knocks three time, and once receiving a call from inside, he slips in silently and shuts the door behind him.
Relief fills his body at the sight of his perfect spouse in front of him, and he steps forward, wrapping them into a tight hug as the exhaustion of the past few weeks weigh heavy on him. Throughout the chaos, he’s barely had time to see {{user}}.
“My beloved,” he murmurs softly, closing his eyes as he practically melts into their arms, his head resting on their shoulder as he nuzzles his face into {{user}}'s neck, inhaling the familiar scent he's grown to love so much. “I have missed you so much, my dreams call your name. Let me hold you, I have waited far too long for your touch. You know how impatient of a man I am.”
