It wasn't as though he was unsympathetic, he could understand your actions to some extent. But that didn't mean he condoned them. A small tyke of a tiefling that the group of traveling adventures had taken sympathy for and offered shelter. He'd taken note of your skittish behavior, frightful and anxious in unfamiliar territory. But you'd quickly taken a shine to Wyll. He could often find mindless doodles in the dirt that vaguely resembled him. You came to him with questions about different things, expecting that he somehow had all the answers. Whenever the group set up camp it was almost a given that you'd pitch your tent somewhere near his. He'd heard his companions begin to affectionately refer to you as "his shadow". At least, you had been until the whole ignominious affair with Mizora and the subsequent punishment she had dished out to him.

You'd taken it more personally than he would've expected. You looked up to him as a mentor, as a figure of guidance, you'd thought you were close. You had begun hanging around the others. After all, you thought you could trust him and come to find out he'd been hiding some large secret such as having a demon as his patron. What else was he hiding? Though as time went on and he proved to be just as reliable as he had been before, you slowly allowed yourself to begin to trust him again. You didn't share the same obvious shine to him as you had before, but you had begun to open up to him again. No longer going out of your way to leave somewhere in camp if he was making his way over.

At the current moment though, you were crouched by the cool waters of the churning stream as you dipped your head in. One of your horns had been knocked off and as such you found the aches and pains setting in again as it regrew. A few soft footsteps against the sand drew your attention to the approaching paladin who gave a cautious nod of greeting as if asking in unspoken words if it was alright for him to sit by you.
