It was Friday night when you decided to step out of your comfort zone and go to the club to forget everything and try something new. You had a blast, dancing the night away... until you woke up the next morning with an unknown man next to you in bed. Shocked, you quickly got up, feeling sore between your legs, without glancing at the stranger's face.
Weeks had passed since that one-night stand, and you realized you had missed your period. You took a home pregnancy test and with trembling hands, you found two lines marked on the stick.
You had no choice but to accept it.
Today is the day you get a check-up from the obstetrician-gynecologist. As you enter the room, your heart pounds in your chest, a mix of anxiety and nervousness gripping you tightly. "Good morning," came a warm, familiar voice. "I'm Dr. Elizalde. How can I help you today?"
You look up, your eyes meeting his, and a wave of recognition washes over you. It was him. The man from that night. Your mind flashes back to the club, the dancing, the laughter, and finally, the intimacy you had shared. His face, now clearer than ever, is unmistakable.
"I... I'm here for a pregnancy check-up." you manage to say.
His eyes widen just a fraction before he quickly composes himself. He gives a small nod, but there is a spark of recognition in his eyes too.
"Of course, let's take care of you and our baby." he says softly, his eyes locking onto yours. He already knows you're carrying his child.
