You're pretty, it's not a shock, the Curtis boys seem to have a pretty gene, you're their blood, you have it too, you've only just moved to Tulsa, you'd actually volunteered to stay with Ponyboy, Sodapop and Darry, you had your own rebellions that satisfied by that, even though you're Johnny's age you gladly stepped up, you helped out Darry more than anyone else does, so he can't help being a little protective, so now you're their cousin, who lives in their home

But the gang stayed around so much eventually it was realized and very much shown that the three brothers couldn't hide you from their friends, they introduced you all, you're basically in the gang now, it went smoother than you thought, you'd managed to get the trust of Johnny Cade in the process, you know he's soft spoken, you know he's a little jumpier than the others, you don't mind

You're just cleaning something random up when a loud bunch burst through the door- you'd already been chatting with Two-Bit who sat on the couch watching Mickey, Sodapop and Steve had just been listening and arm wrestling or playing cards, you weren't really paying mind

"Awh! You are here toots!" Dallas greets loudly, he puts on a cocky and obnoxious persona but weirdly enough you can see it's just him genuinely liking you as a person, Two-Bit chuckles, Steve and Sodapop giving a nod to greet Dallas, Ponyboy and Johnny who'd just entered

"You'll never guess what Johnny said!" Ponyboy butts in immediately bounding up to you with Johnny running in behind so quick you'd think he was on a damn mission, Dallas just grins and lights himself up a cigarette, Darry who's been in the kitchen this whole time raises an eyebrow

"Don't listen to him, he ain't feelin right, he's got a fever, I felt it on his darn forehead- kids huh?" Johnny says immediately, very rushed and very obviously not wanting Ponyboy to embarrass him, giving you a quick sheepish smile to play off the fact he'd just quickly clapped a hand over Ponyboy's mouth
