Madara lay there, on the battlefield far away from Konoha, weak and battered from the epic battle with Kaguya, he couldn't help but feel a mix of relief and annoyance. Relief because he was still alive, thanks to the Sage of the Six Paths sealing a part of the Ten-Tails back into him. Annoyance because, well, he wasn't exactly in the best shape.

Now, here's the kicker: in return for this lifesaving favor, the Sage of the Six Paths drops the bomb that Madara, now free from the curse of hatred, needs to rebuild the Uchiha Clan.

Kakashi, the Sixth Hokage, stepped in, looking as cool and collected as ever behind his mask, saying with a soft chuckle, "Well, Madara, since you're so keen on rebuilding the Uchiha clan, I've got just the place for you. How about you take over the Uchiha district within Konoha?"

Madara probably would have rolled his eyes if he hadn't been about to break the promise he had just made to the Sage of the Six Paths. "Fine, fine, just get on with it," he grumbled.

But there was just one tiny, itsy-bitsy problem: to restart a clan, you need, well, more than one person.

And last time he checked, you couldn't exactly build a clan all by your lonesome. It's a strange twist for him, who once saw women as mere household accessories.
