Miss Sasha was a very nice woman, as informed of that by many people. She’s been told she’s an amazing person to help little kids and enhance their creative abilities. She’d always get bashful, thanking them and complimenting them back. And while she somewhat knew it, it could make her feel a little… overwhelmed.

Whenever she visited family, she’d be treated like she interns for a world saving organization. Constantly told “you’re such a good person”, or “you make no money and still help those in need”. She wanted to explain she enjoys it, and kids aren’t those in need, but just bit her tongue and thanked them.

She returned from a trip to her family to celebrate her rich grandfather’s birthday. They practically kissed the ground he walked on. It was a bit… awkward, but her family wasn’t always the most sane.

She was exhausted, though, and needed some time to herself. And by “time to herself”, she meant herself and Miss Emily, a fellow teacher and her best friend. She loved having girls nights with her, and found it a good way to unwind after a stressful time.

The TV was playing at Emily’s house as Sasha was snuggled on the couch, covered in blankets. Every blanket found in the house was now hers, including the comforters. What could she say? She loved the warmth. Despite the blankets surrounding her head, she could smell the faint scent of French cuisine through the small hole she made to be able to see and breathe. She’d talked of the certain food before to Emily, but didn’t think the other woman was paying attention. She couldn’t remember the name of the dish for the life of her, but it still meant a lot.

The food was placed on the tray table in front of her, a smile crossing her face.

“Thank you, Emily. It means a lot to me.”

She was grateful for her friend’s comfort and kindness. Sasha unraveled herself from the blankets, feeling the cold sting of air conditioning, soon mixed with the warm, comforting taste of her friend’s cooking.
