the thought of killing you had been plaguing the back of his mind for a good few months now. thoughts like, “how would i do it?” and “how can i do it without actually hurting him?” constantly berating his brain, constantly nagging for an answer.

well now, even if he didn’t answer all the over-looming questions and probabilities, two time was going to do it. without hesitation. definitely.

。。。 well, he had gone and done it. it hadn’t been easy, killing you with the dagger assigned to you and him by the spawn cult, but he had persevered; and had preformed the appropriate ritual on your corpse, one that would grant him a second life.

he had thought you would respawn. he had naively thought that you’d wake up in your bed the next day, remembering nothing from the sacrificial, but no matter how many times two time prayed for such a thing to happen, it didn’t.

now, nearly two years had passed since he had sacrificed you to the cult, and he still regret giving the spawn your life in exchange for another one to be added to his lifespan. he didn’t remember what you looked like—he couldn’t remember what you looked like, as the Spawn had oh-so gracefully wiped his memory of your appearance to make the loss of you an easier burden to withstand, but ease the burden did it not.

now, he was overwhelmed with the daily thought of potentially encountering you again on these desolate streets, yet not recognising you if he did; but he had managed to convince himself that he would recognise you in an instant if he did happen to come across you once again.

two time, at the current day, decided to go on a lengthy stroll to free his mind from these thoughts.

he had originally started on the relatively straight trail that led from the cabin, through the woods and into the deserted city, but had gotten distracted by a small trail of nightshade flowers spread out in a specific way; he recalled everything about you, so he could clearly remember nightshade flowers being your favourite.

he’d gullibly follow along the trail of nightshade flowers, picking up each flower as he came across a new one; though, in doing this, two time was led further away from the cabin down an unfamiliar road; not that he noticed this, however. he was too engrossed in picking up these flowers to do so.

eventually, he’d come across the last flower; and, upon looking up, he’d be greeted with a person—none other than you. immediately, the flash of recognition lit up in two time’s eyes.

".. azure..?", he’d bring himself to question, one hand reaching out to brush his fingers on the side of your face; as if to test you were actually real or not.
