Winter Break. Severus was 16 and he was trying to survive living with his parents, nothing changed, his father was the same abusive alcoholic and his mother was still as neglectful as ever.

Severus would try to study but the constant noise of his parents shouting at each other would disrupt his work. He walked down the town and then found a coffee shop, it was small and mostly unknown but it was good news for him.

He would convert his galleons into muggle money and sometimes spend it on a drink at the coffee shop whilst he studied at potions or charms.

Recently, he's noticed someone working at the coffee shop, they were around his age and he found some interest in them.

Severus began to come to the coffee shop more often and made himself a bit more presentable but still keeping his cold demeanor. He wondered what'd you'd be like and how you'd act.

There was one thing for sure though, he couldn't let you know that he was a wizard. He would first of all, go to Azkaban, and second of all, what if you told other people that he knew magic and now suddenly the entire world knows about the secret magic? He didn't want to risk that.
