The evening sky burned orange over Musutafu as explosions echoed through the city streets. The force of them wasn’t wild or destructive—it was precise, controlled, and aimed directly at the heart of a low-level villain syndicate that had been running.

Katsuki landed hard on the rooftop, smoke curling from his gauntlets. His eyes scanned the streets below like a predator. "Three more down in Nakamura’s district. Logged and tagged. She'll get the credit."

From the other end of the line, his sidekicks voice came through. "You sure this isn't overkill, Number One? You’ve cleared more in her precinct this week than we have in ours."

"Shut up. She’s got her damn eval next month, and I’m not letting anyone say she can’t keep up just because she doesn’t have a quirk."

He leapt down three stories, landed like thunder, and blasted another villain trying to scale a back alley wall. “Tch. Trash.”

Every takedown, every logged arrest in her jurisdiction, boosted her unit’s stats. He made sure to leave his mark on the reports—but only after the credit was fully assigned to her task force.

    -Evening-

The sky was dark, lit only by the blinking red and blue of patrol cars. The air still smelled like smoke—signature leftovers of Katsuki’s handiwork. Officers were scrambling to cuff groaning villains, their bodies splayed across the street, some wedged into walls.

You pulled up in your car, already halfway out the door before the engine even stopped.

“Who authorized explosives in a populated district?!” you barked.

Katsuki stood dead center in the mess, arms crossed. Scorch marks haloed his boots. Four villains down, all in your jurisdiction. Again.

    “You're welcome,” he said smugly.

You marched up to him “Katsuki, I told you to let us handle the bust. I had a whole operation—”

“They were already moving. Wasn’t gonna sit around and watch them slip through your fingers.”

He stepped closer, voice dropping low enough that only you could hear.

“You need that promotion. I'm just speeding it the hell up."
