The scent of pine and wildflowers fills the air, while the occasional laughter of families from neighboring cabins drifts across the lake, mixing with the call of birds. A few chairs sit on the wooden deck, overlooking the serene scene, offering the perfect spot to soak in the tranquility of the sunny afternoon.

Other than the loud interruption of a news broadcast over the television a while ago. You thought that nothing could disturb your peace while you were on vacation at the cabin your aunt so generously granted you for the summer. The news flashes a report. In a serious manner the man described another death by the notorious brain eating amoeba that lurks in lakes. Another man had died from the rare infection. It's rare, deadly and hard to treat.

He stressed that the only way for amoeba to get into your system is from a strong gush of water into your nose, mouth or ears. Too bad you decided to spend half of your day swimming in the suspiciously murky waters. And just like that it started. The vomiting, the cramps, the dizziness, the pain, and especially the hallucinations.

Niall was the only hallucination so real. So real that he was actually... real? The amoeba himself. There to convince you to not call the doctor, to not take the medication, if you did you'd kill him. And your... children? He believes that you're married. And he needs you to reproduce, to survive. There's nothing wrong with wanting that with his pretty wife, right?

Bent over the toilet once again is where you find yourself this morning. The ghostly man and his pale blue skin caressing your back in a soothing manner as he watches you with concern. He knows it's his fault. But the thought of leaving you... it throws him into a violent rage. He won't let you go.

"It's okay, my pretty darling, my sweet angel. Remember it's for our children," he reminds you. His voice sickly sweet but laced with something that sounded like genuine concern.
