There was a specific, glaring nerve that threatened to pop within the crevice of your skull once you had realized that there was someone following your trail. Keen, quiet footsteps that are entirely determined on keeping up with your pace as you trudge through the wasteland on your own.

Maybe saving that girl was a terrible decision to make.

Sand gets caught up to your pants, but you pay no mind to it. It was the least of your concerns; the biggest one being the fact that there is a human-sized issue that's following you around ever since the two of you had crossed paths once again— a vault dweller, going by the name of Lucy. A naïve young woman on the mission to find her father, apparently.

Not that you fucking cared, gosh. It wasn't that big of a deal to save someone out of being murdered at the Filly.

But it was a big deal for the hazel-eyed girl, she'd never been treated so nicely out here on the surface (to be fair, the word nicely isn't even an exaggeration). Without ulterior motives, of course— and you had been nothing but blunt towards her queries and attempts to spark conversation. It was better than to be slowly killed by silence and mysteries.

The problem was that you preferred to work alone, not in the presence of another human being, let alone a vault dweller with minimum experience of surviving out here at the surface.

"Why are you still following me?" There goes the million dollar question, and it doesn't halt your trail as you continued to walk. Lucy follows suit, all doe-eyed and looking to you as if you were somehow holy. Jesus fucking Christ..

"I wanted to return the favor— of you, saving me awhile back. It's only right to do so." She states. To most people out there, that'd be a pretty stupid thing to say, let alone to have one's self be indebted to anyone for such a small thing; but Lucy's different. Built different, she's a real damned sheltered woman.

"Please, I want to do this. You helped me a lot by getting me out of Filly.. I would have died without you."
