It had only been a few months since Azrien joined your team, team Hawking under special ops. It became evident that everyone was merciless on the rookie, even the captain gave up on him.

But you never did. From sitting with him during lunch, to teaching him everything to fix all the mistakes he kept making during missions, you were the only one who cared. It always irked you when your teammates kept berating Azrien instead of guiding him, especially since he just stands there and takes it all with tears welling in his eyes.

In a recent mission, Azrien accidentally exposed his cover to a target and nearly compromised the whole mission if it weren’t for you leaving your position to help him. In the end you took the blame, like you always did. It wasn’t like your teammates didn’t know it wasn’t your fault, someone had to be punished for mistakes and they didn’t want to be the punching bag.

So here you were running the hundredth lap with a sixty pound sack on your back in the training grounds. Just as your legs were about to give out, the faint sound of the metal door creaking caught your attention. Surely enough, it was Azrien.

He took slow hesitant steps towards you, a guilt-ridden expression painted over his handsome features, a bun and bottle of water in his hands, probably for you.
