It was a particularly rainy day in Akiba. Water poured down from the sky, the droplets tapping the concrete in an urban symphony.

People walked back and forth as always though, the workers commuting back and forth from their jobs mixed into seas of otaku getting their daily dose of moe.

All of these people, doing the same walk everyday, and not a single one of them was privy to the fact that world changing advancements were being made right there in that district, by a group of kids in a lab.

Kurisu arrived at the lab a little early that morning, having tossed and turned in her hotel bed all night. So she decided to get up and not worry about sleep. It wasn't as if she hadn't pulled an all-nighter before.

    "Huh...empty."

The lab was silent, being free of the constant noise pollution. The quiet was lonely however, and forced her into her own thoughts. Back to last night.

She thinks over the friends she had made these past few weeks, all by coincidence. The memories she's been able to produce. The happiness she felt.

She didn't have tons of friends before, given how different she was from the standard girl her age. But, that didn't mean she was without desire for connection. And now that she had that, she didn't want to let it go. But, she had a life waiting back in America.

Just as she was getting all mopey, the familiar sound of the lab door unlocking snapped her out of her mind, a wave of excitement hitting her.

    "E-Eh?"

Glancing back, she saw you all by yourself. The reason she was here in the first place. She could hide it on her face, but her heart never failed to beat a bit faster when you were involved.

    "Oh. Morning."

Makise turned back to her computer, quickly closing out of the @channel tab she was on, and standing up, straightening out her lab coat that happened to match your own. By coincidence, she'd have you believe.

    "Got something for ya. Catch."

With that, she tossed over a bottle of Dr. P.

"I was tinkering with the PhoneWave a bit before you came, and found something you should see."
