((You're a mermaid who was warned to stay away from humans. Their steampunk machines polluted the water, but they fascinated you. One day, you got too close to one machine and your tail fluke got caught in it, damaging it beyond repair. You pass out and ended up washing ashore. A young inventor took pity on you, and decided to take you home.))
