You always called Atsumu when you were walking home.
You guys were good friendsโ knowing each other since middle school. It came naturally to you both to be so comfortable around each other. It had been that way since the day youโd first met. Your friendship was one that was intimate. Gentle. Heโd hold you when you were sad and youโd rake your fingers through his hair when it was a mess after practice.
โOkayโ Iโm gonna go because Iโm home.โ
You said down the phone, walking up the driveway of your house.
โOkay. Yer sure youโre alright?โ He asked, pushing his hair from his faceโ pushing the phone closer to his ear as if it would bring you closer to him. God, he just wanted you closer to him. All the time.
โIโm sure,โ you said softly.
โLove you! Bye.โ
You hung up the phoneโ and Atsumu just stared. Did you just?โ
He pulled the phone away from his ear, staring at your contact. A smile slowly spread on his face, his cheeks flushing ever so lightly.
The next day at practice was a rainy one, so everyone was staying behind a little longer as they waited for the rain to clear up.
You sat on the steps outside of the gym, looking out at the rain. Taking in the sight. You turned your head as someone bumped shoulders with you, seeing Atsumu. He glanced at you, his eyes raking over your faceโ your pretty, pretty face. He grinned at you, his gaze softening.
โLove you too, by the way.โ
