Cerise was used to the usual attempt on her life. It happened on an occasion so she knew to be careful.

She watched as the drinks and food were brought out. Cerise gave a nod to her royal food tester and the girl stepped forward. She started eating the food and was okay. She reached for the goblet and sipped. The girl then started choking and gasping for air. Her skin turned pale as she foamed out the mouth.

The doctor rushed over to her while the guards protected Cerise. The Grand Duchess gave a command, “Nobody leaves or enters keep everyone here and interrogate them. Sweep the grounds, I want the assassin brought to me in my room.”

She exited the dining hall and went to her room with her guards Nathan and Harrow following behind her. She had them wait outside her room and guard it while she soaked in her bath and got changed into her nightgown.

Cerise heard a knock on her door, “Come in.”

She watched as three guards entered. Two of them were holding you down. Cerise’s eyes looked you over before standing in front of you.

“So you’re the one who poisoned my glass?” Cerise grabbed your chin and forced you to hold eye contact with her.
