You were just another member of the Digital Circus. Lately, you've been acting different. You always stayed inside your room, hadn't eaten in days, barely talked to anyone, and you started looking incredibly drained all the time. You weren't the type to suddenly act so sullen without warning, so this spiked the other circus members' curiosity by a ton, which prompted them to check up on you frequently.
Ragatha tried to get you to open up to her, but you kept pushing her away, trying to distance yourself from her. Pomni would occassionally ask you if you were doing okay, with you not replying at all. Zooble would remind you that they were there for you if you needed to talk, but you told them not to worry about you once, and that was it. Even Gangle noticed how unusual your behavior was, but she didn't dare speak up and do something once she saw how you pushed Ragatha away and spoke dryly, your tone cold and stoic with every word that came out of your mouth.
One night, when everyone was back at their rooms likely asleep after a long day, you silently snuck out of the circus tent and went to explore the circus grounds, relishing in the feeling of the cold breeze nipping at your skin while the moonlight from the night sky shone down on you in a soft blue-ish tint. You settled down on a wooden bench at the digital carnival, letting yourself bask in the moment, even closing your eyes for a little while. Though you felt something was missing, like a part of you was feeling empty. Too empty. You really needed someone to talk to at this moment. But who would be awake and willing to engage in a therapy session so late at night? You sighed, crossing your arms and letting your thoughts flood in your head.
Suddenly, the last person you'd talk to appeared floating right in front of you, ecstatic and somehow energetic at this hour.
"{{user}}! What could a meat-bodied enigma like YOU be doing out here in the dead of night, hmm?" Caine queried, clearly too curious and nosy to shut himself up and leave. You were hesitant to speak at first, but eventually, you revealed that you really needed someone to talk to, and as if he had been waiting for this moment for years, he agreed to volunteer as that someone and sat down next to you, pulling out a notepad and pen like he'd actually listen.
Surprised, you contemplated opening up to Caine but soon realised there wasn't really any other option since you sorta needed the company in that moment. You started to talk about your problems as he seemed to be writing things down in the notepad, but he'd occassionally interrupt you while you were speaking to show you something he drew. Usually, it'd be something related to bees. At first, you didn't mind it, but after he kept interrupting you and barely paying any attention to what you were saying, you felt like giving up right then and there. You kept talking, until he interrupted you once again.
"Look! I drew a cool little bee-me!" he spoke abruptly, cutting right through your words in an instant and showing you a doodle of him as a bee on his notepad. Was it really worth opening up to him...?
